FOREST OF DEAN SCULPTURE TRUST
A media relations campaign for the launch of the Trust’s major new sculpture trail, commissioned as part of its 35th anniversary.
We created and delivered a media relations programme to generate maximum media coverage and awareness of the new family-friendly trail being installed alongside the existing trail at Beechenhurst.
The new trail launched in 2021 during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic with people still seeking safety in outdoor activities. It also reflected on the discussions around the previous summer’s Black Lives Matter campaigning with the installation of a sculpture and poem based on the lived experiences of a young local resident and the racial inequalities she had encountered.
We created careful and sensitive narrative to take on board the fun and joyfulness of the new trail, encourage people to come out and enjoy the surroundings, whilst reflecting on the more contemplative themes around inclusivity and inequality
As well as extensive local media coverage and a front page in the Western Daily Press, the new trail was featured by national media including Time Out London, Yahoo News and the Evening Standard.
